Build it into your day, your runs and routines, commutes and club sessions.

Log your actions and see your CO₂e saved and waste reduced.

Weekly tips, reminders, and content to keep you on track.

5. Reach your goals

See your impact add up in real time, and contribute to the collective community goal.

6. Win along the way

Each phase, a Pledgend of the Month is awarded a Pledgendary prize (including access to 2027 TCS Sydney Marathon spots!)

Planet PB Phases

There are 5 Phases, one for each month from now until race day.

Each phase has 1-4 pledges to choose from and a goal to reach, with live impact leaderboards, 
accountability tracking and epic prizes.

Reduce everyday waste through food and training habits

Goal = 60 waste pieces

PHASE 2

MAY |  Travel

Turn your commute into training, reduce emissions

Goal = 20kg CO2e

What is Planet PB?

Planet PB is your personal best for protecting the places you play. It’s a 20-week sustainability training plan designed to sit alongside your training for the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS, helping you build habits that reduce waste and emissions.

Do I need to be running the marathon to take part?

No. Anyone can take part. Whether you’re training for the marathon, another race, or just moving your body regularly, Planet PB is open to everyone.

Is there an entry fee?

No entry fee. You join by committing to a simple, sustainable action.

How is Planet PB different from Our Kickstart Mission?

Kickstart was a 21-day introduction. Planet PB is the full journey, a 20-week training plan where you build habits over time, just like you build fitness for race day.

How long does Planet PB run for?

Planet PB runs for 20 weeks, from April through to race day in August

How do the phases work?

Planet PB is broken into 5 monthly phases: Waste, Travel, Community, Renewable Energy, and Race Prep. Each phase has a small set of pledges and a clear goal to work towards.

Do I have to join every phase?

No, but the more phases you join, the more impact you create, and the more chances you have to win prizes.

How many pledges do I need to make?

Each phase includes 1–4 simple pledges to choose from. You can pick what fits best into your routine.

What kind of pledges are included?

Pledges are designed to fit naturally into your training life, things like:
- using reusable bottles or cups
- commuting via running, walking or cycling
- plogging with your run club
- switching to renewable energy
- reducing waste during race prep

What impact are we measuring?

We track:
- CO₂e reduced
- waste avoided
- habits built over time
You’ll see both your personal impact and the collective impact grow across the community.

What are the goals for each phase?

Each phase has a simple, achievable goal, for example:
- reducing waste pieces
- lowering CO₂e through travel or energy
- taking action with your community
These build up to your overall Planet PB by race day.

Can I take part as an individual or do I need a club?

Both. You can take part solo or alongside your run club. Either way, your impact counts.

Are there leaderboards?

Yes. You’ll be able to see how you’re tracking, alongside the wider community, as impact builds across the journey.

Are there prizes?

Yes. Each phase, one participant is crowned Pledgend of the Month, with prizes like:
- Sauna Project Sydney sessions
- Pledgendary prize packs
- entry into the draw for a 2027 marathon spot

What is Pledgend of the Month?

Each month, we celebrate someone showing consistency, creativity, and community spirit in their actions.
