For every 1,000 people who make this pledge for a month, we will...

Sort out your wardrobe before you reach for your wallet, if you do need something try clothes swapping, rentals or second hand.
Along with all the clothes in our wardrobes there are some shocking statistics. In the UK 73% of clothes in wardrobes were not worn last year, a household’s clothing is equivalent to 1.5 tonnes of CO2. In the UK we buy more clothes per person than any other country in Europe. Do you really “have nothing to wear?”
So rather than spend an afternoon wandering around the shops stay at home and have a good sort out of your wardrobe. Not only will you realise how much stuff you have but you will probably come across items you had forgotten about!
If you still do really need something then think about buying second-hand. An increase of 10% in second-hand sales could deliver environmental benefits, cutting carbon emissions per tonne of clothing by 3% and water use by 4% water as it extends garment life by 50%.
Or if charity shops aren’t your thing try out My Wardrobe HQ, By Rotation and Hire Street these great rental services help keep your wardrobe looking and feeling fresh without a negative impact on the environment.
